S&M Kart Supply, Inc. was founded in 1983 by Bob Shearburn and Allen Mendenhall.  What began as a small shop servicing local racers quickly evolved as the Briggs & Stratton flathead 4-cycle engine became our primary focus.  We rapidly grew from a part-time service shop into a full-time, full-service engine blueprinting and parts business.

During the late 1980's and early 1990's, S&M Kart Supply became one of the premier Briggs & Stratton engine builders in the country, winning dozens of national championships and major Grand Prix street races nationwide.  After establishing ourselves as a major Briggs & Stratton distributor in the early 1990's, our focus shifted toward the wholesale market.  In 1998, we made the strategic decision to become one of the few wholesale-specific kart shops in the USA.  Since moving into a larger facility in 2000, we have continued to specialize in 4-cycle racing and have grown into one of the largest wholesale distributors in the industry for 4-cycle racing.
